The
owners, David and Jane Barnes are now embarking on the final
chapter of the development, which concerns
Parc
Résidentiel des Granges,
to the east of the estate. A separate 8 acre meadow, with
permission for the owners' new home, together with 50
attractive, eco-friendly holiday houses.
This sector will continue to be
developed and operated by the current owners.
The new project is an ambitious and challenging undertaking in
its own right, so David and Jane have decided that the time is
right to divest themselves of the other two residential
complexes, which comprise:
Les Granges,
to the north of the estate. Nine cottages in their own courtyard, formed by two XVIIth century stone long
barns with original oak beams, which have been sympathetically
renovated and converted over the years to form comfortable
holiday accommodation, sleeping a maximum of 60 guests at any
one time, together with the owners’ current home; a large,
tastefully renovated Charentais 3-5 bedroom farmhouse and
garden. This latter would provide the ideal family home for
live-in owner-managers, or alternatively could be converted to
provide further gites.

Les Ecuries, to the
south of the estate. An ancient, extremely pretty
pigeonnier, plus six houses, created in 2000 beneath an
original XVIIth open stone hangar, combining the charm of old
beams and stone walls with the advantages of modern building
and design techniques. The seven properties, which sleep a
maximum of 40 guests, form an independent mews, with a
communal garden and a fenced and gated open-air swimming pool
with paddling pool. The end house could easily be adapted to
make an ideal home for the new owner.
Offers will also be considered for
individual properties.

All three sections
of the estate will continue to benefit automatically from the superb
leisure, fitness and squash facilities
at Domaine des Granges,
which
will continue to be manned and operated by the Barnes family
and their enthusiastic team, for the exclusive benefit of all
owners and their guests residing at any of the properties on
the estate.
Both gîte businesses come with the proposition of David and
Jane’s ongoing support in the day-to-day management of the
business, if required, allowing investors the choice between
hands-on maximum profit operation and hands-off minimum effort
operation.
